Grand Tour
Day 1 Sorong
After arrival at Sorong there is a transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend to power up for an amazing journey.
Day 2 Sorong
After breakfast the adventure begins with a city tour through Sorong, which brings you a bit closer to the culture of a small city in Papua. The first visit is to a local market where vegetables & fresh fish are sold. The open air vegetable market is a real treat with food products you never saw before. Followed by a visit to the largest Chinese Temple overlooking the port of Sorong, where everyone will be briefed on the history of this beautiful landmark. The evening is leisure.
Day 3 Sorong - Mansuar
In the morning the cruise ship will depart directly to the island Mansuar. Here you will discover the crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, colourful reefs and the dense forest as background. At sunset you sail from Sorong to the direction of Batanta.
Day 4 Mansuar - Batanta
When the sun rises Batanta is reached and the day begins with a tour inlands through a rainforest, towards a beautiful and admirable waterfall. There is a good chance that the elusive "Wilson's Bird of Paradise" can be spotted.
Day 5 Batanta - Boo
From Batanta the journey heads towards the Boo islands. This is a group of small islands with a very rich vegetation, a paradise for birdwatchers. Here you have time to go snorkelling or off course bird watching. In the evening the ship departs to the Misool archipelago.
Day 6 Boo - Misool
At the break of dawn you spend the day exploring the uninhabited islands along the north coast of Misool. Enjoy the wonderful natural and unparalleled beauty of flora and fauna. Discover many unspoiled underwater caves, spot exotic birds and enjoying the fantastic scenery. In the evening the boat leaves to Fak Fak.
Day 7 Misool - Fak Fak
Bright and early the morning opens sailing on the open ocean. On the way towards Fak Fak a stop is made at the Pisang islands and Was islands, ideal to snorkel, swim and barbecue on the beach. Then you will be brought to the district centre of Fak Fak for overnight.
Day 8 Fakfak - Karas
The morning is spend in Fak Fak. Around noon you will depart to Karas island in the bay Sebakor. Here a visit is made to several coastal towns and there is an opportunity to relax. From Karas the ship sails west to Manawoka.
Day 9 Karas - Manawoka
Upon arrival at Manawoka you will make a walk through an old nutmeg forest and visit the village head of Manawoka. Then the journey goes to the eastern tip of the island, where two lakes with a small tunnel are connected to the sea. It is a very special experience to swim and snorkel here. From Manawoka the roads heads in the evening to the south, to the Wabula Archipelago.
Day 10 Manawoka - Kurkap
Island Kurkap is like a piece of heaven, a paradise island. The island is surrounded by coral reefs with pure white sand and view on the coconut trees. This will be your destination for today.
Day 11 Kurkap
This day is for leisure. Make use of the time to power up for the rest of the journey and just relax and enjoy the serenity. Around noon the boat leaves for the Spice islands.
Day 12 Kurkap - Banda
In the morning you will arrive at the Spice Islands, also known as the Banda archipelago, rightly famous for its natural beauty. The first island visited is Ai, here you can take a walk and go in search of the remains of Fort Revenge. There is also an opportunity to visit the famous Banda reefs. Then the ship sails through the enchanting 'Sonnegat' to the main town of the island of Banda Neira.
Day 13 Banda - Ambon
The sun rises and it is time to make a visit to the last nutmeg plantation, which is run by one of the descendants of a Dutch colonist. Here you will get a tour and will be enriched with the knowledge of the processing of nutmeg in the good old days. In the evening the ship departs to Ambon.
Day 14 / 16 Ambon
These final days are for leisure in Ambon and are spend at Natsepa beach which is the most popular beach of the Moluccas. It is renowned for its unspoilt landscape, small waves and relaxed atmosphere. It is a small sandy beach with clear blue water and there is a road along the beach with various stalls selling local delicacies are sold. A culinary highlight is Rujak. A kind of fruit salad with a tasty sauce that is prepared on the spot for people.
Day 17 Ambon
An amazing adventure has come to and end. There is a transfer to the airport which will take you to your next destination.
