Day 1 Medan
After arrival at Medan you will visit the historic Maimon Palace. Followed by a visit to a school especially for deaf children; experience the beauty of their dimensional world. Additionally, a trip is made to the wild life animal museum and the crocodile farm to enjoy these miraculous creatures. You also get a taste of culture and religion by visiting the grand mosque and the day ends with a dinner at the heritage old city hall.
Day 2 Medan - Samosir
Via the plant belt Tebing Tinggi - Pematang Siantar you drive further to Lake Toba, one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world. Enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the lake. The drive arrives in Prapat where a boat crosses to Tuk Tuk on Samosir Island.
Day 3 Samosir
Today a cruise on Lake Toba will be made. The boat will take you to some interesting Batak villages on the island and will introduce you to the history of the Batak.
Day 4 Samosir - Berastagi
The journey continues to Berastagi, but before doing this you will go to the Sipiso-piso waterfall and the long house of the Simalungun King. Additionally, visit the Simarjarunjung hill to enjoy ginger tea and fried banana. Next, the lake is crossed by boat to get to the Island Samosir. Have a look at the Ambarita village to see the Stone Chair of King Siallagan and pay a visit to the Tomok village to see the wonderful King Sidabutar Tomb.
Day 5 Berastagi - Bohorok
At sunset the road heads for Bohorok. On the way the village of Sebahe is passed where they sell traditional medicine, surely a new experience for almost anyone.
In the afternoon there is a chance to see the Orang-utan.
Bohorok is one of the few places on earth where you can have a magical experience meeting the orang-utans. The orang-utans are the two exclusively Asian species of extant great apes. Native to Indonesia and Malaysia, orang-utans are currently found in only the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. Orang-utans are the most arboreal of the great apes and spend most of their time in trees. They can live over 30 years in both the wild and captivity. |

Day 6 Bohorok - Bogor
Today your flight leaves from Medan to Bogor. Here it is possible to visit the world famous botanical garden Kebon Raya, also known as Buitenzorg. Buitenzorg was one of the residences of the Governor General in the Dutch East Indies. In 1817 it was decided by Dr. Caspar Georg Carl Reinwardt to create a great botanical garden that even today can still be admired with many and unique tropical plants. This beautiful garden invites you to enjoy this first day in Indonesia
Buitenzorg
On the territory of the botanic garden, there is a cemetery established in 1784. It contains 42 historical graves of the Dutch colonial officials, military officers and scientists, who served in Bogor, Jakarta and other cities in West Java from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. Nearby, there are three graves of the early Sunda Kingdom (15th century): the wife of the founder of Bogor Silivangi, Galuh Mangku Alam, vizier Ba'ul and commander Japra. The locals regard these individuals as the city's patrons. Other historical places are the Bogor Cathedral – built in 1750, it is one of the oldest operational Catholic Churches in Indonesia, and the Buddhist temple Hok Tek Bio, built in 1672 in the classical South Chinese style. Day 7 Bogor
This day is free. Bring for example a visit to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This is a huge park with traditional building styles, crafts and clothing from all 26 provinces of Indonesia.
Day 8 Bogor - Bandung
You go to Bandung via Pncakpas covered with tea gardens. Near the summit the road winds through the well maintained Gunung Mas tea plantation. If possible, a visit to the tea factory is made to see how the freshly picked tea is processed.
Day 9 Bandung
After breakfast, a visit will be made to the Curug Dago. The Curug Dago is a beautiful waterfall with a height of 30 meters. Not only the waterfall but also the surroundings are very stunning. Walk along the river and enjoy the view. Then the journey proceeds to the Tangkuban Perahu in Lembang.
The Tangkuban Perahu is an active volcano in the city Lembang. Tangkuban Perahu means inverted canoe. It is a major tourist attraction. It is possible to walk or take a trolley to the edge of the crater. The volcano is 2,084 meters high and last erupted in 1983 |

Day 10 Bandung - Purwokerto
Through an extraordinarily beautiful mountainous area 'The Preanger' you reach the sleeping town Purwokerto, located at the foot of the mountain Gunung Slamet.
Day 11 Purwokerto - Yogyakarta
After arrival in Yogyakarta, the world famous Borobudur is visited to see the sunset from the temple. This will provide a breathtaking scene with the still active Merapi volcano as background. The colours of the Borobudur temple will change from gold-yellow to dark-grey after the closing of the light beams of the sun. Feel the serenity that this beautiful world heritage radiates. At the end of the day you can go shopping in the well known Malioboro Street in Yogya with its countless souvenir shops. Or you can enjoy all the culinary that Yogya has to offer.
Borobudur
Borobudur is a Buddhist temple and one of the tourist attractions of Central Java.
Borobudur is built as a large stupa. The basis of this stupa is 123 by 123 meters. The stupa has nine floors, the lower six are square and the upper three round. The floors represent the Buddhist cosmos. On the upper floors, there are 72 small stupas, built around a large central stupa. The great stupa symbolizes Nirvana.
The small stupas represent upwards the road that a Buddhist must travel to eventually be included in Nirvana. In the morning, the Borobudur still serves as a prayer retreat. A pilgrim walks each floor seven times around clockwise. The stupas are images of Buddha, who through the holes in the stupas these images can touch receives, according to local superstition (not according to Buddhism), the eternal happiness. |

Day 12 Yogyakarta
Departure is in the early morning southwards towards Parangtritis to go on a wonderful walk along the beach. With a little luck you can attend a traditional ceremony in honour of the Queen of the South Sea. Then a visit is made to Candi Ratu Boko, where you will see the long-hidden remains of the Palace Complex, which was built in the 8th century. With a blend of Hindu and Buddhist architecture it is a truly magnificent building. Then the journey continues to the sacred Barong Candi, which has stunning views over the valley of Yogyakarta. At the end of the day the famous Prambanan temple is visited. This was built in the glorious times of the Mataram kingdom in the 9th century and symbolizes the cycle of life and death. There is also an opportunity to visit various temples at your own pace. In the vicinity there are lots of more temples, including the beautiful: Candi and Candi Sewu Plaosan, having approximately 25 various Buddha images with different emotions.
Day 13 Yogyakarta - Batu
Today is the time to explore the royal riches of Yogyakarta by ritjak (cycle cab), bicycle or taxi. Visit the Kraton, the royal palace of Yogyakarta where you can admire the traditional Javanese palace architecture. The palace was built in 1756 and is still the residence of the remaining Sultan. It houses markets, offices, schools, museums and mosques, and is in fact a city in the city. Then a visit is made to the Taman Sari, which used to be called the bath palace or bathhouse of the Sultan (King). Followed by Kota Gede, the silversmiths who used to live here still present their art today. It is also possible to go to fort Vredeburg where you can relax by strolling along the gallery. In the midday the route continues to Solo in the direction of Candi Sukuh. Here is a lot to learn about the essence of life where the human (yourself) is centred and family acts as an important balance. On several engraved stones ancient messages are carved. From here on the road goes to Candi Ceto, situated at an altitude of five hundred meters or 1630 feet above sea level. Along the way tea plantations are passed with breathtaking views. The last temple today gives enough energy to regain breath.
Day 14 Batu - Kalibaru
After sunrise in the beautiful morning the journey continues through the stunning rugged scenery and extraordinary natural beauty of East Java Kalibaru, with as destination a small village in the middle of rubber, cloves, cocoa and coffee plantations. Experience life on the plantation up close.
Day 15 Kalibaru - Lovina
You will be woken early by the local announcer of the mosque where after the journey heads to Ketapang. Here you will sail by ferry to Bali, the island of the Gods, the final destination. See the beautiful Bali during the drive to north coast of Bali, Lovina.
Day 16 Lovina
A perfect opportunity to rest from this wonderful adventure and to enjoy this relaxing moment.
Day 17 Lovina
This is the end of the journey through Bali. You will be brought to the airport for your next destination.
