Grand Tour
Day 1 Jakarta - Bogor
Arrival at Jakarta, followed by a trip to the ancient times, to the historic city where it all began. A visit is brought to the Sunda Kelapa, Kota Tua and to the Cafe Batavia. In this cozy cafe, many Dutch officials from former times spend their moments and this is still palpable. Then further to Bogor for overnight.
Day 2 Bogor - Malabar
After breakfast a visit is made to the famous botanical gardens of Bogor 'Kebun Raya' and the well known 'Buitenzorg', the former governor's residence. Afterwards continue to the Malabar estate, which has become a beautiful tea plantation under the leadership of Bosscha. You will encounter this name many times in the area. His energy has ensured that the production of Malabar came at a high level and became the best quality tea product of Indonesia. Once there, you may make a nostalgic tea walk and feel the grateful energy.
Day 3 Malabar - Bandung
In the morning depart to the crater lake 'Kawah Putih. There are several stories about the history of this area. It is said that the birds were reluctant towards the crater, as if a mysterious force was present. The villagers from the surrounding area also avoided this Kawah Putih. These mysterious stories were examined by Dr. Junghuhn in 1837, a German botanist. He mapped the beautiful Kawah Putih and today you can safely make a trekking around the Crater Lake. It will be a special experience.
Day 4 Bandung - Pangandaran
In the early morning the journey continues to the traditional village 'Desa Naga'. The excursion to Naga Desa is impressive and it seems as if time has not changed. They live according to the old traditions with great respect for Mother Earth. A visit is made to the village along a staircase of 300 steps and narrow paths. Feel the harmony and tranquility that this town has to offer. Then continue from Desa Naga to Pangandaran. The afternoon is leisure time in Pangandaran where you have to opportunity to take a walk along the beach. Here you will find many places to quietly meditate or just enjoy the surroundings.
Day 5 Pangandaran
Time to discover Pangandaran. Feel the energy of the locals when visiting the village and the traditional home industry. Then experience the adventure of the Green Canyon of Java. Admire the nature on a traditional boat sailing on the calm water deep into the jungle and further inside the cave, where there is an opportunity to swim. In the late afternoon a visit is made to the National Park, the home of the Buffalo, reindeer, various species of monkeys and tropical birds, where you may spend your time for the rest of the day.
Day 6 Pangandaran - Yogyakarta
From Pangandaran to Yogyakarta, passing beautiful landscapes of Middle Java. Arriving at Yogyakarta, visit one of the worlds’ wonders on earth: the famous Buddhist temple Borobudur. In 1814, this temple was discovered by Sir Raffles (founder of Singapore) and for a long time it remained hidden under a thick layer of volcanic ash. Admire this magical temple complex and feel the powerful energy of Borobudur.
Day 7 Jogjakarta
From sunrise to sunset the charming city of Yogyakarta stands central this day. The morning begins with a visit to the Prambanan Hindu complex. Take all the time to admire the artistic buildings and you may take a stroll to the river and rice fields surrounding the complex. Enjoy the wonderful energy that this holy place has to offer. Then to the palace or kraton of the Sultanate of Jogya surrounded with famous antiques. Take a good look at the Taman Sari which is also known as the water castle, Kota Gede for its silversmiths, Malioboro Street and Fort Vredenburg, a former fortress from Dutch times. The evening closes with a beautiful sunset from the hill of Candi Ratu Boko overlooking Jogjakarta. An exhausting but very special day.
Day 8 Jogjakarta - Solo
Time to experience the historic Java, to characteristic city of Solo where you explore the surroundings by bicycle! Enjoy your cycling trip through the traditional villages and the rice fields along the flat landscape. You may find several souvenirs that are made in a traditional way in these villages. Experience their daily live full of harmony.
Day 9 Solo - Bromo
A train trip at Java. After breakfast, starting your experience by train from Solo to Surabaya, with Jombang as the last destination. Enjoy the view of this train trip, until your pick up time at Jombang for further transfer to Bromo by private car. The scenery on the way to Bromo is amazing. Arriving in Bromo, is time to rest for your journey the next early morning.
Day 10 Bromo - Ijen
The journey begins in the middle of the night. By horse (possibly accompanied), a trip is made trough the valley to the foot of the mountain and through a steep crater wall to reach the volcano. Admire the sunrise in an almost magical moon-like environment where the colors are indescribable. Bromo has a height of 2392 meters and is the most famous volcano in Java. After the descent the trip, visiting the Tengger village where you can enjoy the scenery and magnificent views in a peaceful atmosphere. Further in the afternoon continue to Ijen for overnight.
Day 11 Ijen - Menjangan
After breakfast, the beautiful stratovolcano at Ijen is visited. A jeep will bring you to the foot of the volcano. Enjoy the nature and the unique Ijen Crater Lake. A good condition is required to be able to reach the top. Available on request, a night trekking to discover the mysterious "blue fire". This blue fire, which can best be described as a giant burner, can only be seen at night and remains for most visitors of Ijen therefore undetected. Afterwards travel through Ketapang to Bali. Once at Bali, let the loving sea breeze overwhelm your soul and body.
Day 12 Menjangan - Lovina
In the late morning the journey continues to Lovina through the north coast part of Bali with a short stop at the Pulaki temple where many small gray monkeys can be admired. Then to the Melanting temple which is rich in unique ornaments and to the Banjar hot spring, one of the hot pools (volcanic geysers) that Mother Nature offers to Bali Island. In the afternoon at Lovina, you may relax or enjoy a beautiful walks along the volcanic sandy beach.
Day 13 Lovina - Sanur
In the early morning, you sail by traditional boat to the deep sea and with some luck catch a view of the amazing dolphins. The famous Lovina dolphins are known as funny habits who love to show their jump acts. Admire one of the beautiful animals that Mother Nature is rich in with at the background the beautiful hills of North Bali. In the afternoon the journey continues from North to the South Bali, via Bedugul, the hills of Middle Bali. On the way visits are made to the GitGit waterfall, the famous Ulun Danu temple, the three beautiful lakes of Bali; Buyan, Bratan & Tamblingan and of course the beautiful terraces of rice fields. When arrived at Sanur there is time to relax on the white sandy beach.
Day 14 / 16 Sanur
Free days at the great village of Sanur. Enjoy the warm sun of Bali and the delicious culinary that the Balinese kitchen offers. Trips on request are available which include excursions to the Safari Park, which is definitely worth while, or the island of Nusa Lembongan which is famous of her natural beauty.
Day 17 Sanur
Time to leave Bali. There is a transfer to the airport for the next destination. End of the journey through the beautiful islands of Java and Bali.
