Day 1 Sorong
Arrival in Sorong, where you will be brought to the hotel. The rest of the day is leisure to relax and to discover Sorong. In the afternoon, a visit can be made at a local market. Enjoy the beach of Sorong.
Sorong is a city in the west of the Indonesian province of West Papua. The city lies on the Sele Strait of the Pacific Ocean. To the west lie the Raja Ampat Islands. Sorong has a beautiful beach promenade and has a number of historic buildings from the Dutch oil period. It is a city of contrasts. |

Day 2 Sorong
Today you will visit the hot spring Klaijili in Makbon. It was used to cure skin diseases. Followed by a visit to the Crocodile Island, Pulau Buaya. This is an island 500 meters from the beach where diving can be done. The island is named crocodile, because the island looks like a crocodile floating in the water from a certain angle.

Pulau Buaya or "Crocodile Island" is an island, 500 meters from the beach. Here, it seems that good diving can be done. Do not worry, there are no crocodiles.
Klaijili Hot Spring
This is the hot water source in Makbon District that is used to cure skin diseases. It is 60 km from Sorong city.

Day 3 Sorong - Manokwari
A plane leaves to Manokwari. Upon arrival in Manokwari a transfer follows to the hotel. There is an opportunity to explore the area or just relax in the hotel.
Day 4 Manokwari
This day is spend in Manokwari, "old town" in Numforees. Surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Pacific and the islands Leman and Mansinam. A trekking will be made to the Arfak Mountains, a big jungle with wild treeless peaks. Manokwari is an excellent place for nature lovers and adventurers. Fully enjoy this beautiful piece of nature located in the so-called 'bird's head' of Papua.
Day 5 Manokwari - Biak
After breakfast, the journey continues by plane to Biak. Arrived in Biak, you will be brought to the beach. There you can enjoy the beautiful quiet beach with a breath taking view of the surrounding small islands. A perfect location to enjoy snorkelling or a nice walk.
Biak is an island of Indonesia located in the Yellow Finch Bay in the Indonesian province of Papua, and also the capital of the island, Biak city. Biak forms together with Numfur and the Padaido islands the Indonesian district (kabupaten) Biak-Numfur. Biak was in the period 1948-1962 a part of Dutch New Guinea and formed with the abovementioned islands the district Schouten Islands. |

Day 6 Biak
After awakening by a beautiful sunrise, a visit is made to the bird and orchid park. Enjoy the sounds of the birds that offer rest. The best are the cassowaries which roam freely. Cassowaries are ratites, a bit like ostriches. The evening is free.
Day 7 Biak - Sentani
At the dawn of the day a flight departs to Sentani. Upon arrival at Sentani airport there is a transfer to the hotel. Enjoy all the tranquillity of the surroundings. In the afternoon a visit to Lake Sentani is on the program and the villages around the lake will be visited by boat. Meet the citizens of the villages and feel the love that they will offer.
Day 8 Sentani - Wamena
After breakfast, the journey goes on to Baliem. En route several villages will be visited before you arrive at the airport for a flight to Wamena, with the final destination, the Baliem valley. The rest of the day is leisure.
Day 9 / 10 Baliem
These days are spent at Baliem. An adventurous journey through the Baliem Valley, a true paradise. With luck you will see the beautiful "Burung Cendrawasih", also called birds of paradise. These days can be spend on many ways, make a trek to discover the villages around the Baliem Valley that will provide variety in the landscape. The scenery is again beautiful to see. Learn about the prehistoric culture of the Papuan population, visit markets, relax in the beautiful hotel and see another part of Indonesia.
Day 11 Wamena - Jayapura
From Wamena a flight leaves to Sentani. Upon arrival at Sentani is a transfer to the capital Jayapura. Along the way you pass a crocodile farm which is definitely worth a moment to visit. The scenic views are breath taking. Then a trip is made through Jayapura and the surrounding area.
Day 12 Jayapura
After breakfast it's time to explore Jayapura. First, a visit to the Museum of Cendrawasih University in Abepura is made. A small but nice museum with a remarkable collection from all parts of Papua. Lots of statues, large shields, some penis sheaths and other specialties from the culture of Papua are shown here. The rest of the afternoon is leisure. Enjoy Jayapura and the surrounding area. Take a look at the Cendrawasih golf course and even though you do not love golf, walks along the various holes provide stunning panoramic views over the sea and the city.
Day 13 Jayapura - Agats
Today you will leave Jayapura for a flight to Agats. After arrival in Agats a visit to the interesting Asmat museum will be made. Please pay special attention to the bisj poles. These are long poles, nicely decorated with ancestral figures. The skulls are somewhat lugubrious, which were conquered by head hunters. The ghost’s masks and war shields are very photogenic.
Day 14 / 15 Asmat
Be awakened by the beautiful sounds of nature. Early in the morning, a traditional boat departs to discover the Asmat region. Enjoy the nature and adventurous life. A visit to several villages, including Asmat, Owus and Amandesep will be made, known for its unique handcrafted wood carvings.
Day 16 Agats - Timika
After breakfast the journey goes on to the airport for a flight to Timika. Arrived in Timika you will be transferred to the hotel. Enjoy the views. In the afternoon you can walk in Timika and explore the city.
Timika is a fast growing city in Papua and is the capital of the regency Mimika. The city is best known for the largest gold mine in the world, which incidentally is owned by an American company. The town is located near the national park Lorentz and the Grasberg Mine, the largest gold mine in the world. The city is a transit port for the minerals that are extracted and the residence of the employees of the mine and many prospectors. |
